During Pinta Panamá Art Week, a public guided tour of the Mercantil Collection invites audiences to explore Formas ampliadas del dibujo, an exceptional selection of works that open new paths through line, gesture, and imagination.
As part of its centennial celebration, Mercantil opens the doors of its iconic Panama headquarters to present a selection of its visual arts collection—one of the most solid and respected in the region. Formas ampliadas del dibujo is an exhibition that invites us to rediscover drawing as an expanded, expressive, and deeply conceptual practice.
The show features works created between 1933 and 2023 by key figures in modern and contemporary art, including Armando Reverón, Marisol Escobar, Jesús Soto, Gego, and Carlos Zerpa, along with emerging voices from newer generations.
The Mercantil Collection—built over more than 25 years—has played a vital role in the preservation, dissemination, and critical reflection on visual arts in Latin America. This guided visit offers a unique opportunity to get a closer look at its cultural mission.
