Alicia Viteri

Bio

Alicia Viteri, born in Colombia and a naturalized Panamanian, has lived in Panama for over 40 years. Throughout her career, she has held more than 40 solo exhibitions of printmaking and painting, including installations, mobile art on buses, and digital art, as well as participating in numerous collective exhibitions in the Americas, Europe, and Japan.
Currently, she revisits her work with a fresh perspective on the characters that have always populated her art, placing them across time and blending techniques into a renewed mixed-media proposal.

Statement

“Invisible Line.”
A journey shaped by time and my life experience between 1970 and 2024. I’ve always felt like a chronicler of the moments I live, which has transformed into these images I call “Time Without Memory.” Just like I once wrote in 1972:
“I was once a creature—clumsy, naive, sensitive—
in a process of pleasure and pain,
learning to see beyond borders.
Now people nourish it,
and it no longer carries a cage in its soul.”
